What is the Student Leadership Team?

Student Leadership Team is an incredible opportunity for our 4th - 6th graders at Joy Church! It is designed to help kids grow in their faith, develop leadership skills, and take an active role in serving in the Kids Church class.

This team is for students who want to grow as leaders, learn to serve others, and deepen their relationship with Jesus. As part of this team, students will commit to a 12-month journey of leadership training, hands-on experience, and personal growth.

What Will Students Learn?

Through monthly leadership meetings, students will:
✔ Learn how to study the word of God and build study of the word as a daily habit
✔ Develop leadership skills using John Maxwell’s Leading from the Lockers
 ✔ Learn how to assist with leading the Kids Church class from games, worship, object lessons, and praying with others
✔ Grow in confidence to pray with and for others
✔ Build essential leadership habits, such as responsibility, teamwork, and communication

Commitment & Expectations

  • Application Process: Students interested in joining will need to complete an application.

  • 12-Month Commitment: Students will commit to twelve months of leadership development and service.

  • Monthly Meetings: These will be a mix of leadership training, spiritual development, and hands-on service opportunities.

  • Registration Fees: The Student Leadership Team has a fee of $40 for the 12 month season. The fee covers the cost of a team t-shirt, leadership book, and bible study journal. We are happy to offer 50% off scholarships, just inquire upon application.

How to Apply

Students who are interested are asked to attend the team orientation on June 2, 2025 at 6:30pm in the sanctuary (parent and student attendance). After orientation students are asked to submit their application by June 8, 2025.

This is a special opportunity for students to take their faith to the next level and make a meaningful impact in our church. We are so excited to see how God will use this team to develop young leaders!
